Greenwich gas station clerk shot during robbery

GREENWICH - Police say a 37-year-old Greenwich gas station employee is recovering after he was shot in the head during a robbery early Saturday.

A man carrying a gun walked into the Mobil station on East Putnam Avenue at around 1 a.m. and demanded cash, according to investigators. Police say after the clerk handed over the money, the suspect shot him in the back of the head.

Police say the man could be out of the hospital in a few days.

Greenwich police say they're following up on leads but are asking anyone with information to call them at 203-622-8054.
