STAMFORD - (AP) - The manager of a Greenwich gas stationhas been accused of stealing $115,000 by pocketing phony lotterypayouts and expense account purchases. Thomas Milne, of Bridgeport, appeared in Superior Court onWednesday after being arrested in June and charged with firstdegree larceny. He's free on $75,000 bond. Court documents show that the former owner of Cos Cob Mobilapproached investigators in April, suspicious that an employee wasstealing funds from the lottery account. According to an audit of gas station records, the store lost anaverage of $300 to $500 a day between 2006 and 2010. Court records indicate that Milne allegedly told stateinvestigators he had stolen the money since 2005 to pay hismortgage and other bills. A number for Milne couldn't immediatelybe found and he couldn't be reached for comment.
