GREENWICH - A Greenwich mother whose 6-year-old son drowned in their backyard pool back in 2007 has released a new book to teach kids about water safety.

Karen Cohn’s son Zachary drowned after getting his arm stuck in the drain entrapment of their backyard pool. Last month, she and her husband released the children's book, "The Polar Bear Who Couldn't, Wouldn't Swim."

The main character is a polar bear named Zeke, who's afraid of the water but learns how to swim with some help. Bob DeAngelo, executive director of the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club, says he uses the book as a teaching tool.

Cohn hopes it helps not only young swimmers, but also their parents too.
