GREENWICH - An outage that left about 15,000 people in Greenwich without power this morning is being blamed on a squirrel.

At the peak around 8:30 a.m., Connecticut Light and Power reported more than half the town was in the dark, including Town Hall.

Garden Catering on Hamilton Avenue was one of the many businesses affected.

The owner says he was able to stay open by bringing in coffee from another location.

As of noon, CL&P says it had completely restored power.
