GREENWICH - Greenwich police are searching for a man who fled a drug bust that landed another man behind bars Monday night.

Investigators say they arrested Mark Pelazza, 24, on gun and conspiracy charges, but not drug charges, after deducing that the suspects were trading firearms for drugs. The arrest was made at the scene of the operation at East Putnam and Riverside avenues.

Detectives searched diligently for the second suspect throughout Old Greenwich and were assisted by units from Stamford and the MTA.

Pelazza was charged with the sale of a gun, conspiracy and criminal attempt. It remains unclear what role he held in the operation.
