GREENWICH - Police say they are searching for the person who wrote a threat on a bathroom wall at Greenwich High School, prompting an hourslong lockdown on Wednesday.

Following a sweep of the building, the threat was found to be unsubstantiated.

Superintendent Sal Corda says the incident has emotional and financial repercussions and that they are taking the situation seriously. Authorities say several of the dozens of officers that responded worked overtime.

Police say whoever is responsible can be slapped with threatening and breach of peace charges, among others.

Authorities add that they are looking at surveillance video as part of the investigation.
