Greenwich residents without power since Wednesday

GREENWICH - Three days after high temperatures left more than 2,000 Greenwich families in the dark, town officials held an emergency meeting this afternoon with Connecticut Light and Power.

Officials say the high demand for electricity in the heat played a part in the crisis. Many residents are without power today, and some of them have been in the dark since Wednesday night.

Authorities say they thought they had the problem fixed overnight, but had to turn the power back off after more problems developed.

They say even if they get the power back on today, there?s no guarantee it?ll stay on.
