Greenwich teens named to so-called 'Smut List'

Greenwich High Students are speaking out today after 10 female students at the school were included in what is being dubbed "The Smut List."The list

GREENWICH - Greenwich High Students are speaking out today after 10 female students at the school were included in what is being dubbed "The Smut List."

The list is being sent around by cell phone and can also be found on Facebook.

In addition to the Greenwich names, the there are many more from other communities.

The headmaster at Greenwich High says there was a strong disagreement over the list and that no one knows how it originated.

One of the Greenwich High students named on the list fired back on Facebook saying, "Omg thank you for giving us so much attetion & wasting your time on this ; making us imfamous :) frommm THE GREENWICH SMUTS #1 & #7."

Greenwich High Headmaster Chris Winters released a statement, in part saying, "While there was no violence related to this list, all will be made aware that sending any virtual slanders that disrupt the educational process will be subject to school consequences."

Greenwich police say they are not investigating the incident.
