STAMFORD - A Stamford man has been charged after he allegedly fought a security guard after a shoplifting attempt last month.

Police say Gregory Whitlock tried to walk out of Lord and Taylor with $1,400 worth of clothing when he was stopped by a security guard.

Whitlock fought the guard and was able to flee the scene.

Investigators later identified Whitlock as the alleged shoplifter and issued a warrant for his arrest.
