NORWALK - Wednesday was the busiest day of the year for food retailers, according to the National Grocers Association.
Shoppers who hit the Stew Leonard's in Norwalk agree, saying they encountered filled parking lots, jammed aisles and long checkout lines.
The store expected to have twice as many customers as a regular day.

Stew Leonard's employees say that while they welcome the crowds, they cannot wait for Christmas since the store will be closed.
