NORWALK - The controversial group Guardian Angels was in Norwalk Monday, trying to make its presence felt.

Wearing their trademark red berets, the Angels marched up and down Wall Street handing out fliers and talking to business owners.

The group's founder, Curtis Sliwa, says he?s trying to make the city safer.

However, some city leaders, including Mayor Dick Moccia and the police, say the group is not needed.

The Guardian Angels say they plan to have patrols on Friday and Saturday nights with members from the New Haven chapter until they can recruit enough people in Norwalk.
