Gymnastics instructor denies sex assault of boy

NORWALK - The gymnastics instructor that has been charged with sexual assault and risking injury to a minor in Norwalk is denying the accusations against him.

According to authorities, Vincent Pozzouli, 63, was teaching his students at the Norwalk YMCA when they say he fondled an 8-year-old boy.

The boy told his parents that he was touched inappropriately. His parents then reported it to the staff at the YMCA and alerted police.

While Pozzouli denies the allegations, court records show he was convicted of assault, but acquitted of unlawful sexual contact against an 11-year-old boy a decade ago.

Pozzouli is free tonight on $10,000 bond.
