NORWALK - A man was arrested early Saturday morning after leading police on a wild chase through the streets of Norwalk.

Police say they attempted to stop 25-year-old Hakim Smith, who was leaving a crowded parking lot on Washington Street at around 2 a.m.

They say Smith hit a pedestrian and parked car before speeding away. Police say he then jumped the curb, crashed into a pole and a patrol car before eventually coming to a stop by the I-95 exit ramp near West Avenue.

Police say the pedestrian hit was not seriously injured. They say Smith is facing multiple charges and is being held on $20,000 bond.
