Hearing today in Skakel appeal

GREENWICH - Prosecutors are in court today are raising the possibility that attorneys for Michael Skakel have a conflict of interest in representing the Kennedy cousin in an appeal of his murder conviction.

Skakel is appealing because he claims his trial attorney at the time, Mickey Sherman, was incompetent when Skakel was convicted in 2002 of killing Martha Moxley in Greenwich in 1975.

Prosecutors say Skakel's current attorneys represented him in earlier appeals and as a result they too could potentially be considered incompetent.
