Heavy rain causes flooding in Milford

MILFORD - Residents are cleaning up after yesterday?s torrential rain left many in southwestern Connecticut under a flash flood warning.

During the peak of yesterday?s storm, floods forced crews to shut down streets in the Flax Mill Road area.

The Connecticut Post Mall also saw some flooding as about 5 inches of water pooled in the lower lever.

A spokesperson says crews worked throughout the night and morning to clean out the lower level.  A total of 39 businesses were affected.

The Milford Senior Center was also closed because of flooding today.  It expects to reopen tomorrow.
