MILFORD - With the approaching winter storm, Connecticut shoppers hit local malls early to get in more holiday shopping.

With time running out until Christmas in a week, some stores at the Westfield Connecticut Post mall slashed prices of up to 70 percent off, giving shoppers a reason to wait in line.

"Yankee Candle was a little busy, but I got a good deal, so I waited for that," says Danny Pedraza, of Stratford.

Other shoppers just want to beat the impending storm.

"We're doing what we can today," says Lorraine Tremont, of West Haven.
