Hollis Ross accused of trying to run down his children

DARIEN - A man from Pennsylvania is facing charges for allegedly trying to run over his adult daughters in Darien.

Police say Hollis Ross was drinking yesterday afternoon before he drove across several lawns on Casement Street in an attempt to hit his two adult stepdaughters. They dove out of the way and Ross ended up hitting an SUV owned by his estranged wife.

After getting out of the car, Ross allegedly smashed the SUV's windshield with a hammer. He is now facing a series of charges, including attempted manslaughter.

Ross is now recovering in the hospital.
