NORWALK - Homeowners across southwestern Connecticut are spending big bucks to clean snow from their roofs.

News 12 Connecticut's Zak Sos spoke with a home inspector to get advice on hiring a roof cleaner.

Home inspector John Oppenhimer says homeowners can make sure the contractor is licensed and certified by the state by visiting the Department of Consumer Protection’s website.

He says a qualified roof cleaner would not carry tools that are sharp or that could damage the roof.
