Home invaders pose as deliverymen

STAMFORD - Stamford police are investigating a report of a home invasion in which two suspects posed as deliverymen.

The victim, Nick Melia, a Brushwood Road resident, reported that two men using a white Enterprise rental van showed up posing as deliverymen. Once the door was opened, Melia says the men forced their way inside and stole jewelry.

Melia served a 33-month sentence for a racketeering conviction in 2005. Police are not commenting if that had anything to do with Tuesday's incident.
