MILFORD - A homeless man from Milford is recovering this evening after police say someone attacked him with a knife in a cemetery.

Officials say Dennis McPadden was living in a tent inside the Milford Cemetery and a woman with a knife slashed him at around 2 a.m. this morning. He says the woman told him that she was doing him a favor by killing him.

McPadden says he never saw the woman before and that he recently started living in the tent after he was kicked out of a nearby homeless shelter for drinking.

Police say the suspect is described as a white woman in her early 20s with straight, shoulder-length brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 203-877-1465.
