BRIDGEPORT - A homeless Bridgeport woman who admitted selling drugs and illegally enrolling her son in the Norwalk School District was handed a five-year prison term today. Tanya McDowell had already pleaded guilty in both cases and was sentenced as part of a plea bargain. Her attorney, however, says it was difficult to admit fault in stealing from the school district. McDowell says she plans on properly raising her son at the end of her term. He is currently attending school in Bridgeport.
