Homeowners worry about melting snow

Officials say when there is too much ice, the melting snow clogs up gutters and ends up leaking through the roof. (2/19/14)

NEW CANAAN - Southwestern Connecticut is getting ready for a gradual warm-up, which has some homeowners worried about melting snow.

Crews with Home Services of New Canaan were out yesterday getting ice off of rooftops.

They say when there is too much ice, the melting snow clogs up gutters and ends up leaking through the roof.

Crews say last Thursday's storm is to blame for the ice build up.  They say it brought sleet and rain, which froze on top of the snow.
