NORWALK - Fire officials say a fire that raced through a Norwalk home at 11 Senga Road Saturday night didn't cause any injuries because the homeowners were on vacation.

Officials say the family's two dogs were rescued by firefighters who handed them over to a neighbor. But fire officials say fifteen crucial minutes of smoke inhalation had likely impacted the dogs' mental state.

"I think they were disoriented. The smoke does replace the oxygen that your brain is operating off of, so they were inhaling a lot of smoke... I'm sure they were confused," says one official.
