STAMFORD - A local historical site in Stamford is running a spooky haunted tour for Halloween.

The Hoyt-Barnum House on Bedford Street, built by Samuel Hoyt in 1699, is the oldest standing house in Stamford.

Pamela Coleman runs the "Tales of Horror and Death" tour and says the house and the woods behind it are believed to be haunted by a family member who died after a drowning in 1755. The tour leads guests through the house, including the birthing room where Hoyt's first wife died and the attic where the children slept.

Tours are being held Friday and Saturday. Due to the scary nature of the tour, it is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
