BRIDGEPORT - Hundreds of people attended an anti-violence march in Bridgeport this morning.
The theme of the Good Friday event was stopping violent crime through prayer and activism.
The march started at St. Charles Church at 1255 East Main St. Sen. Richard Blumenthal kicked off the march with a message about ending violence caused by guns.
Eight blocks were shut down to accommodate the event. Organizers say the tradition of moving around the Stations of the Cross represents the idea of making a spiritual pilgrimage.
They estimate about 700 people participated in the march.
