Hundreds bid farewell to Marist fire victim from Woodbridge

FAIRFIELD - Hundreds of friends and family members bid a final farewell to a Woodbridge woman killed this weekend in a Marist College house fire. Services were held at the Abraham Green & Son Funeral Home in Fairfield, where mourners remembered 21-year-old Eva Block. The junior, who was studying fashion design, died Saturday of smoke inhalation when her off-campus apartment went up in flames. Block's parents were among several speakers, asking all in attendance to keep their daughter's memory alive. Investigators have yet to confirm what caused the blaze.
