BRIDGEPORT - Hundreds gathered in the streets of Bridgeport to honor a homeless man who police say was murdered, dismembered and cannibalized in an abandoned house.

Friends of Angel Gonzalez, 43, said he didn't deserve to die as they honored him in front of the place where he was killed.

Police have charged 35-year-old Tyree Smith with Gonzalez's murder.

Gonzalez's ex-wife, Nereiga, was among the mourners. She is urging the city to tear down blighted properties like the house where her former husband was killed.
