Hundreds turn out for Fairfield tribute run

FAIRFIELD - Hundreds darted down the streets of Fairfield Sunday as part of the fourth annual Donnelly Dash, a race held in honor of two slain residents and race enthusiasts.

Tim and Kim Donnelly were murdered in their Fairfield jewelry store three years ago. The three-and-a-half mile tribute run is now used to put a positive spin on the tragic loss by raising money for Fairfield University scholarships.

"You try to leave the world better than when you found out, and to some extent, that's what Tim and Kim are still doing" says Chris Donnelly, Tim's brother. "They're still making the world better."

The couple's daughter, Tara, ran alongside other family members and says she's touched by the continuing turnouts year to year.

"Too see that people still remember and still care ? it means so much," she says.
