GREENWICH - The torrential downpour is causing lots of problems this morning.
High winds knocked a live power line down in Greenwich early forcing police to close Cherry Valley Road.
As of this morning, CL&P is reporting that just over 400 homes in Greenwich have had their power knocked out.
There are also at least 100 homes without power in Norwalk, Stamford, Darien and Wilton.
Gov. Jodi Rell says Connecticut power companies have assured her that crews are standing by in case trees and power lines are knocked down during the storm.
Line crews working for CL&P are ready to restore power to customers who may be affected by outages.
If your home is experiencing problems, call CL&P toll-free at (800) 286-2000.
