MILFORD - Two local college students are getting national attention after making an unexpected discovery in a Milford park.

Ian Stankiewicz and Michelle Olsen were hiking in Eisenhower Park when they came across a wallet. They say many of the cards inside had expiration dates ranging from 1987 to 1989, and that a driver's license belonged to Doris Coulombe.

The friends say they contacted the family via Facebook, but never received a response. Only after their story was picked up by Yahoo did the family reach out.

Family members say Coulombe passed away last year, but that her wallet had been missing since 1985. They add that Coulombe was visiting her late husband at a West Haven cemetery when someone broke into her car and stole her purse.

Ian Stankiewicz and Michelle Olsen, both college seniors, say they plan on starting a website where people can share similar "lost and found" stories.

They will return the wallet to the family shortly.
