WESTPORT - A Barred Owl found injured on the side of the road last summer is on the mend.

Marble was brought to the Earthplace Nature Discovery Center after he sustained injuries to his wings, beak and eyes. Marble has been healing and adapting well to his new home, but can't be released back into the wild because he can no longer fly.

Marble will soon be working as an educational bird to give students a closer look at common Connecticut owls.

Earthplace officials say they hope to include him in educational programs this summer.
