BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch reached out to members of the city's interfaith communities to discuss ways to help prevent backlash against Muslims.

News 12 Connecticut sat in on the meeting that included members of many faiths and ethnicities.

During the meeting many expressed fear of retaliation toward Muslims following the arrest of Faisal Shahzad, accused of attempting to blow up an SUV in the middle of Times Square.

Leaders of the interfaith meeting say their main goal was to bring Christians, Jews and Muslims together in a message of truth and tolerance.
