BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police say drugs may be behind a chase that ended in a crash last night.

Officers say they tried to stop Anthony Depina, 19, who was the driver of a black Jeep Liberty, at around 8 p.m. but he took off. The chase ended when the Jeep went airborne and crashed into a driveway at Truman Street and Alexander Avenue.

Police say they found a small amount of drugs in the car and believe that is why the driver tried to speed away.

Police say no one was injured and Depina was released on $25,000 bond this evening.
