Prosecutors have cleared a state trooper in the deadly shooting of a robbery suspect. It happened at a gas station in Milford last October.

MILFORD - Prosecutors have cleared a state trooper in the deadly shooting of a robbery suspect.

It happened at a gas station in Milford last October.

Trooper James Scott shot Matthew Lofaro, 28, during what police say was an attempted robbery.

The report says Lofaro was drunk and carrying a sword.

Police say he was ordered to drop his weapon, but refused.
