BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport woman is facing charges after police say she failed to report the abuse of her 5-year-old son.

Police say Jarelis Lugo was aware son's father was assaulting him, but initially told officials that his injuries were accidental.

Police charged Daquon Gomillion with the abuse in September.

They say the boy suffered significant scarring over much of his body due to being hit multiple times.
