Jeffrey Rodrigo Acuna Mata charged after Metro-North train crash

NORWALK - The driver of a van involved in an accident with a train last month is now facing DUI charges.

Norwalk police say Jeffrey Rodrigo Acuna Mata, 38, was driving on Glover Avenue when his van got stuck in a snow bank.

He was trying to dig out the van when a passing Metro-North train hit it.

Police say Mata had a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit.

No one on the train was hurt.
