FAIRFIELD - The Fairfield community is speaking out one day after the guilty verdicts against a man who killed two local jewelers in 2005.
Christopher DiMeo was convicted yesterday in the deaths of Tim and Kim Donnelly.
Police say the Donnelly family has been incredibly courageous throughout the long ordeal.
Howard Diamond, who owns Fairfield Center Jewelers, says Feb. 2, 2005, the day the Donnellys were killed, is still a vivid memory.
"It really is, really is," Diamond says.
Jurors will return to court on Feb. 28 to decide whether DiMeo should get the death penalty.
