BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport man convicted of beating and burning a woman to death in 2006 will spend the next 60 years behind bars.

Johan Batista, 35, was given the maximum sentence on Friday.

Police say he helped his brother murder Wanda Gonzalez in her apartment on Calhoun Avenue.

The judge said Batista forfeited the right to be a member of free society.
