STAMFORD - A New Canaan man accused of attempted battery of his wife appeared before a judge on Wednesday.
John Michael Farren is accused of bludgeoning his wife with a flashlight and trying to strangle her at their home back in 2010. He was in court to ask the public defender to be appointed to represent him, as Farren was previously serving as his own defense.
The court has lifted a stay on documents linked to the case. They will be unsealed in 10 days, thus becoming public information.
