BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport man was arraigned this afternoon in connection with a fatal shooting that happened exactly one year ago.

Jose Manuel Torres, 37, was brought before a judge Thursday.

He is charged with killing Pablo Aquino at the intersection of Clermont Avenue and Pixlee Place on July 24 last year.

Police say Torres fatally shot Aquino following an argument.

Torres was arrested in New York in March, but was only extradited back to Connecticut this week.

Aquino's family says Aquino had suffered from stage 4 cancer but was in remission when he was shot.

The judge set Torres' bond at $1 million, and he is due back in court next month.
