Jury gives DiMeo life-in-prison sentence

FAIRFIELD - A jury ruled today that Chris DiMeo should receive life in prison for the murder of a Fairfield couple back in 2005.

The same jury convicted DiMeo in the murders of Tim and Kim Donnelly last month.

Jurors deliberated for four days before deciding on the life-in-prison sentence rather than the death penalty.

The Donnellys? family was in the courtroom during the penalty hearing today.  They say they now hope to be able to move on from the terrible tragedy.

The victims' two children say they plan to speak directly to DiMeo at his sentencing on May 6.
