WESTPORT - Westport police say a mother is facing charges for driving under the influence with four children in the car.
Kelly Haazen refused a Breathalyzer test yesterday after a witness called 911 to report a car driving erratically, according to authorities. Police say the witness saw Haazen hit a stop sign at the intersection of Long Lots Road and Post Road. The concerned driver followed Haazen as she allegedly weaved between lanes and struck a car making a right onto East Main Street.
Police located Haazen at her home, where they say she admitted to having four children in the car with her and to drinking. She was charged with DUI, evading responsibility and four counts of risk of injury to a minor.
