MILFORD - Dozens of retail stores got a jump-start on Black Friday this year by opening their doors early.
Many people in southwest Connecticut took advantage of the early openings in what is dubbed "Grey Thursday," with Black Friday deals starting as early as Thanksgiving morning.
While shoppers spent their day of thanks shopping for toys and electronics, they say that they were thankful to store employees who spent their day working. Other customers say they were simply thankful for the head start on holiday shopping.
Management at the Kmart in Milford says that shoppers were already capitalizing on their deals once the store opened at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. They say the store will remain open until 11 p.m. Friday.
