REDDING - Neighbors of Huntington State Park have concerns that a stroll through the area could turn into a deadly venture.

For the first time in recent history, the state is allowing hunters to look for deer in Huntington State Park. One of the concerns that neighbors have is the lack of sufficient safety warning signs at the park?s entrance. As of now, there is only one sign warning hunters where they can use bow-and-arrow gear within the park.

?It should be larger ? coded in red,? said Stephanie Wade, of Redding. ?Keep dogs on leash ? be aware of your surroundings and just be careful.?

The Department of Environmental Protection?s Outdoor Recreation Department says it will post signs to the best of its ability to let people know what?s going on.
