STAMFORD - The driver involved in a high-speed chase in Stamford faced a number of charges today.
Detectives say undercover officers spotted the driver, Larry Stevenson, acting suspicious. They say when the officers approached, Stevenson took off, leading police on a 10-minute chase onto I-95. Police say Stevenson, who is from Wilton, abandoned the car, and the chase ended in the woods along East Main Street.
According to police, a search of the car turned up crack cocaine and oxycodone.

Prosecutors say Stevenson was already facing three arrest warrants, including one for a probation violation after he was convicted of robbing a child with autism.
