Law catches up with bungling bank robber

STAMFORD - Police say the man responsible for attempting to rob a bank in October was arrested moments before trying to rob another bank Tuesday.

Police say that Jesse Lee Dinius, 26, is suspected of trying to rob two other banks. In one of the attempted heists that took place in September, the robber dropped his weapon, apologized and left.

Investigators say that a photo taken during a robbery attempt in October is what helped Key Bank employees recognize Dinius before he could try his luck again.

According to police, Dinius is charged with criminal attempt at robbery in the second-degree and possession of a fake firearm.
