Lawmakers call for deficit reduction

About a dozen democratic members of the state House and Senate have signed a letter to the senate president and house speaker asking for them

MILFORD - About a dozen democratic members of the state House and Senate have signed a letter to the senate president and house speaker asking for them to take action to cut Connecticut's budget deficit.

Right now the state is facing a $500 million shortfall for this year.

Milford state Sen. Gayle Slossberg is among those who signed the letter. She says that the session opened more than a month ago but no action has been taken on the deficit so far.
