HARTFORD - Lawmakers are proposing placing a cap on state gasoline taxes to help reduce the pain motorists feel at the pump.

Lawmakers say Connecticut has the highest state taxes of any state in the region. With a gallon of gas at $4, the state receives 49 cents.
