Lawrence Taylor out on bail after rape arrest

SUFFERN, N.Y. - Former Giants star Lawrence Taylor has been released on $75,000 bail after being arrested on rape charges in New York.

Taylor is accused of paying to have sex with a 16-year-old girl at the Holiday Inn in Suffern, N.Y. Police believe the teenager is a runaway from the Bronx who was forced into prostitution. Taylor was arrested yesterday.

The legendary linebacker's attorney denies the allegations and says Taylor will fight the charges.

"Lawrence Taylor did not rape anybody," says attorney Arthur Aidala.

Taylor is due back in court June 12.
