Lawsuit filed in New Canaan pedestrian death

NEW CANAAN - The family of a New Canaan man who was killed in a hit-and-run accident is suing the woman police say was behind the wheel.

Police say Kate Regan hit Krishna Jayaraman, 82, on Oenoke Ridge Road in August.

The lawsuit claims Jayaraman suffered pain and emotional trauma before he died at the hospital that evening.

Because of the suit, all assets belonging to Regan and her husband have been frozen.
